About me
Hi, I'm Melissa. I live in Surrey with my fiancè, Ian and our dog, Pepper. I have always found weddings and parties exciting and love seeing what little details and differences people choose to add to their occasions - spending hours scrolling through pintrest and saving beautiful images of venues, flowers, outfits and decoration has always been a favourite past-time of mine.
My background and experience
Having spent the last 16 years working in hospitality and events, from hotels to corporate catering and everything in between, I have established a thorough understanding of the industry and I have always loved working in events! However, it wasn't until I got engaged that I realised I could put all of my skills and knowledge towards helping others create their perfect day, what ever the occasion!
Planning my own wedding
Like so many brides, I wanted my day to be truly unique and decided on a beautiful 18th century barn for my wedding reception. This gave me the perfect blank canvas for me to style and arrange however I wanted - everything from the kitchen equipment, heating and toilets to the tableware and decorations.
How Bee-Spoke started
It was only when I started talking to other brides-to-be that I started to receive comments including "I wouldn't know where to start", "how do you have the time?" and "I would love something like that but it's too overwhelming" - with this Bee-Spoke was born!
The overall goal
